One of my daughter’s favorite OCYFL cheers really meant something this year at Harvest. It starts like this.. “Rain can’t stop us! Thunder can’t stop us! Lightning can’t stop us!” And that’s just how Kasey Anderson felt when the forecast was looking gloomy for her well thought out Harvest plans. Even with the clouds looming Ms. Anderson gave Harmony families a Harvest they’ll always remember. From new games, to trick or treating in the halls to even vendor booths to shop and the return of the silent auction. There was something amazing to do around every turn. So a big Harmony thank you to Ms. Anderson, her wonderful committee and over 150 volunteers for putting together a wonderful event! A very special THANK YOU to Julie Bucalos, PTA VP Hustle, for organizing an amazingly successful Harmony Hustle! And, another big thank you to all of our Harmony families who helped us soar past our initial goal to raise an astounding $29,329! The money raised will go back to the classrooms, related arts, fund our new playground equipment and more! To recap, the class with the highest donations was Ms. Olive. The top 3 classes with the highest registered users were Ms. Rankin and Ms. Crawley then a tie for third with Ms. Lindauer and Ms. Benninger! All of these classes earned a Silly String party! We are off to an amazing start for this school year! By now we are all settled into our school routines and the blitz of September has passed. But things sure haven’t slowed down! From breaking records in our fundraising with the highest earning Hustle ever at over $29,000, to our highest recorded PTA memberships at 325 members, to a one of a kind Harvest Festival, we all here at Harmony really have a lot to be proud of.

Let’s keep that awesome momentum rolling as we head into the fall!

We’re just getting started with all we have going on and we invite you to step in and join us along the way. Whether it be to come to a meeting, volunteer at an event, celebrating our staff or even help out in the classrooms. Keep an ear open because we have something special coming up soon especially for our male volunteers with our Watch Dogs Program. There truly is something for everyone! Please join us Saturday, October 7th from 5-8pm! Our Harvest Fall Festival is held annually to promote school spirit and community.

This carnival style event has something for everyone and takes numerous volunteers to create this fun family time. Please consider signing up here to volunteer. This is a rain or shine event filled with tons of fun! We will have games, inflatables, face painting, craft & vendor booths, food trucks and a gymnastics course. This year we have many new things planned, too! There will be a hay ride, trunk or treat, silent auction and even a showcase of pumpkins from our decorating contest. The fun is endless! So bring your whole family and even your friends – this is a community event you won’t want to miss!

This year we are introducing more options for fundraising that may fit better in to your busy routines. One of which is our Dine to Donate program. With Dine to Donate,  you can take the family out for dinner and support Harmony PTA! Our first dine to donate will be at BLAZE Paddock Shops on Wednesday, September 20 from 5-8pm. A portion of the night’s proceeds benefit our PTA. You must show this flyer Harmony Elementary PTA – 9-20-2017 either on your phone or a print out for Harmony to benefit from your purchase. Be on the lookout for more restaurants we will be dining with this year!

Hello Harmony Families! My name is Jessy Maggard and I excited to be your PTA President for the upcoming school year. I’d like to take a moment to welcome everyone, whether you are a new or a returning student, we are glad to have you! While this is my first year as president, this is my 5th year being a part of the Harmony family. It’s really an honor to be a part of such a wonderful school and community.

This is going to be a great year of events, programs, fundraising and so much more!

There are so many ways you can support our school. From simply becoming a PTA member to volunteering at an event or in the classroom, even attending one of our fun family events.

Our big project this year will be continued improvements to our school playground. Over the summer new mulch and timbers were installed. And we are currently in the bid and planning process for new equipment! We also raise funds to support your child’s education, school programs and special events. I hope you’ll join us in reaching our goals this year. Every little bit you do makes a big difference!

Do you want to leave your legacy at Harmony for years to come? The time to do so is now! You can still order Legacy Bricks for our playground, but only until Friday, September 15. The engraved bricks will be placed near the entrance to enhance the playground area and reduce the mud tracked into the school. Win, win! Proceeds benefit our playground so hurry and place your order today!

Be a part of our Box Tops Contest! From September 6-22, send in your box tops for a chance to win a big teddy bear. For every 10 box tops sent in you are entered in the drawing. Enter as many times as you wish! Send your Box Tops to school in a baggie or envelope with your child’s name and teacher clearly marked to be properly counted for drawing chances.

Stop by the school bookstore Friday mornings between 7:15-7:35am starting September 8! We sell fun pencils, pens, erasers, water bottles, and more! Most school supplies range from $.25 to $1 and water bottles are $5.

Harmony Staff works hard to ENSURE HIGH LEVELS OF LEARNING FOR ALL. Do you have a staff member you would like to celebrate? Please take a blue ribbon and write a little note about a staff member who you have witnessed fulfilling our school’s mission or who you would like to celebrate for being a TOP DOG or doing something PAWsome. Blank ribbons can be found in the blue basket in the office by the sign-in sheet. Display it on the Best in Show board in the yellow hall for all to see. Thank you for helping us celebrate our staff!
