Each week the students of Harmony Elementary gather around to see who has won the coveted Golden Awards from their related arts teachers and counselor. There are 5 awards from the teachers, then 3 more Golden Bones awarded by Harmony Counselor Mrs. Murphy. There are three very important criteria each class must do to earn the awards. They must show they are respectful, responsible and safe. Also, when awards are given to the classes, there are additional praises such as – most improvement, showing great teamwork, tackling a particularly difficult project or having a great attitude.
When a winner is announced, the classes show a great pride for earning such an honor. And more than that, the other classes applaud them for their achievements. The overall connection between every class is truly amazing!
