Spring is in the air and good vibes are all around. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who had a part in this years’ success. From the late nights to the early mornings, working through the details to make every event, fundraiser, and celebration truly great. It’s all thanks to each of you in our amazing Harmony family!

Together we really can make a big difference!

Planning for 2018-2019 is underway and your input is extremely valuable. While I’ll be returning next year as your PTA president, there are a few open spots on our board to fill. We are nothing without our wonderful volunteers, and we need you! Contact me to learn more about how you can help at pta.president.hes@gmail.com or to provide feedback and suggestions.

A Night of Memories to Treasure

Whether this was your daughter’s first or last Father Daughter Dance at Harmony, she surely had the time of her life! Some sweet memories were made at the Father Daughter Dance on Friday, February 9. Many thanks to Jenn Anderson and her committee for organizing a wonderful evening for our Harmony little ladies. “Words cannot express how extremely grateful I feel to live in a community with such amazing families, school staff, businesses and volunteers who made this sweet night fall into place more beautifully than I could have dreamed! Every person that was there went above and beyond to make this memory the girls will hold in their hearts and minds forever. We are abundantly blessed!” stated Father Daughter Dance Chairperson, Jenn Anderson.

After a delicious dinner from Olive Garden, dancing began with tunes from Hey Mr. DJ and lasted all night. The silly photo booth was a hit with everyone as they captured memories from the night. Don’t forget to order your Inter-State Studio professional photos online at lookatmyphotos.shootproof.com A special thank you to McAlister’s Deli for donating drinks for this event, to all of our wonderful volunteers who helped serve food, cleaned up and kept things running smoothly, and Floss 32 for being an event sponsor. Harmony PTA Board Meeting Minutes

February 7, 2018

Attendees: Jessy Maggard, Stuart Ulferts, Ari Willey, Dani Reich, Deidre Clark, Caryn Weferling, Kendra Wiegand, Jenn Anderson, Holly Wood, Kelly Human, Becky French, Beth Fowler

Welcome/Introductions

 Recording Secretary, Deidre Clark
Minutes from last meeting on January 18, 2018 were approved. Stuart moved to approve the minutes. Motion seconded, and approved. 

President, Jessy Maggard

  • Golf Scramble – Will work to plan for the following school year possibly at Nevel Meade.
  • Bricks – Will begin selling March 1st
  • New Spirit Wear – Current online ordering will close at the end of February. Plan to sale at Kindergarten registration and at Movie Night in May.
  • Movie Night, May 18th – Planning discussed. Will have in gym if it rains.
  • 2018-2019 Board – Chairperson positions available for Harvest, Donuts with Santa, Bookstore, Box Tops, Welcome Committee, Mother Son Event, Earth Day, Directory. Executive board position available for Recording Secretary.

Message from Superintendent – Kelly had a discussion with the Oldham County Superintendent on Jan 16th. Points shared from this discussion are as follows.

  • Re-districting of all Oldham County Elementary schools to happen most likely for the 2019-2020 school year. May happen for the 2018-2019 school year.
  • If there’s a new elementary school for Oldham County it would not be built until 2021-2022.
  • All parent concerns about the re-districting of Harmony Students should be sent directly to the superintendent. Parents are invited to attend the next BOE meeting on February 26th at 4:15pm.

Playground Update, Kendra Wiegand

The bid is moving forward and will be reviewed at the February BOE meeting. PTA is working on the next area for submission and review.

Treasurer’s Report, Holly Wood (Report by Jessy on her behalf)

Adjustments made based on discussions from last meeting. 2017-2018 Harmony PTA Budget 2.6 Kendra moved to approve the budget. Motion was seconded, and approved.
